2008 Family Fun Night
ZooFriends Membership Has Its Benefits
The Oklahoma Zoological Society will present the annual Family Fun Night at the Oklahoma City Zoo on Friday, October 3rd, from 4:30 - 8 p.m.
Calls of the wild and sounds of music by The Rice Combo will echo throughout this evening which is free for ZooFriends members. Families have enjoyed a tradition of fun with Zoo Keeper Chats and the Teddy Bear Check-Up station for the past 14 years.
"This evening is our way to say thank you to all of our members for their support of our wonderful zoo," said Betsy Allie, interim director of the Oklahoma Zoological Society.
Other attractions at Family Fun Night will include Fins and Feathers Shows (featuring California sea lions and exotic birds at the Noble Aquatic Arena), kids tattoo stations, ZooFriends T-shirt sales, free rides throughout the Zoo, and a special discounted meal deal - dinner for $2.50 per person!
The night's activities and attractions are free of charge for ZooFriends members. However, a few of the rides and concessions will be regular price. Families wishing to purchase memberships at the gate will be admitted to Family Fun Night at no extra charge.
Family Fun Night continues to be one of the most anticipated events of the year for members. More than 75 volunteers and staff help put together this evening event dedicated to ZooFriends members. One of the most popular volunteer requests remains the Teddy Bear Check Up station, in which volunteers act as "healthcare providers" to beloved stuffed animals brought in by children.
