ZooFriends 2008 Ostrich Egg Breakfast a hit!
We're "eggstatic" to announce that Ostrich Egg Breakfast 2008 was a huge hit! Hosted by ZooFriends and the Oklahoma City Zoo, the 22nd annual event attracted more than 2,600 guests to the Oklahoma City Zoo on Saturday May 10th. Event-goers enjoyed an all-you-can-eat breakfast of pancakes, sausage, scrambled hens’ eggs and the famous ostrich egg omelets made to order by gourmet chefs.
In addition to the hearty breakfast, live entertainment was provided by the Rice Combo and clowns. Cartoonist Jim Lange was on-hand to autograph the Ostrich Egg Breakfast T-shirts he designed. A special thanks to all of the “eggcellent” volunteers who gave their time to serve the Zoo.
Proceeds from the breakfast will help the Oklahoma Zoological Society fund Zoo projects such as local and international conservation efforts, zoological research and educational materials.
